On Saturday, June 24, 2017, Hervé Saulignac, President of the Ardèche Department and Bernadette Roche, departmental councilor in charge of rurality and forestry, President of the Syndicat mixte de la montagne ardéchoise inaugurated the stele dedicated to the Resistance.

During the Second World War, the Gerbier site was a place of parachuting and the “Chalet Champel”, former name of the site house, was used to hide parcels, weapons and people.

Now, a stele symbolizing a radio parachute drop* – a sculpture made by the ironworker Philippe Poulard from Lamastre – is installed on the platform, in front of the house, so as not to forget this place marked by history.

*The Museum of the Resistance and the Director of the Office of Veterans were associated with the choice of the project.
Consult here the press kit and the tribute paid by the craftsman to the Resistance fighters.
